Hello Beauty Bloggers & readers,
The UK has been having such lovely weather and I have been making the most of it sat outside enjoying the sun and reading!
I went to Superdrug with my two friends to pass the time and to browse at the make up. I wanted to find a face powder that helped even out my skin tone a little and that I could wear on days where I did not want to put foundation on my skin. My friend recommended me this Maybelline powder.
Maybelline – Matte Maker Mattifying Powder
‘Matte Maker all-day powder, Maybelline’s face powder with millions of powerful mattifying particles! Instantly absorbs oil and blends seamlessly with your skins tone and texture, for a perfectly flawless matte finish.’
This powder is light/medium coverage, I think it’s best over a foundation to help look more matte then dewy. But you can still put this powder on your face without foundation for a little bit more cover on your skin. This powder helps reduce the look of my under eye bags and also helps even out my skin tone just a little. It feels nice and smooth on the skin and applies well, The colour I picked up matches to my skin perfectly and you can’t really tell you have powder on as it does not leave you skin looking caked. The more I use this powder the more it grows on me.
This powder cost me £3.99 which I think is an amazing price for a powder, the downside is that I don’t feel it lasts all day especially in the warm weather and I find myself having to re-apply it again when out and about.
The packaging is a bit flimsy, it comes in a plastic container and I’m always careful when placing it in my bag incase it gets stepped on as i think the plastic will just break instantly.
Real Techniques – Expert Face Brush
‘Real Techniques Expert Face brush is a wider, ultra firm face brush and a must-have beauty makeup accessory that will help to create a flawless base on your skin. The more time you spend on this first step of makeup application, the better the results at the end.
The brushes in the Real Techniques range are all colour coded and each colour corresponds to a key step of makeup application. Gold focuses on the base – your foundation application. The Real Techniques Expert Face brush will help to apply and easily blend liquid or cream foundations, achieve your desired level of coverage and provide smooth, high definition results.
Made with ultra-plush, synthetic taklon bristles are hand-cut and 100% cruelty-free.’
Real Technique brush’s where do I start… First of all they are such amazing quality! The feel so soft on the skin and also they don’t shed! What can be more annoying then putting your foundation on with a brush and it shedding on your skin.
They blend foundation and powder so well into your skin that it’s hardly noticeable that you have it on. Even though they can be a little pricy they last for a long time! I’ve had my stippling brush for around 2 years and every time I wash it, it feels new and still feels as soft as when I first got it.
I decided to buy this brush for my powder as its small enough to get into the spaces between your nose but also big enough to not take forever to apply your foundation or powder. It blends your makeup perfectly into your skin and does not leave any harsh lines, using this brush makes applying makeup so easy and quick. The hairs on the brush are very dense which help you build up your foundation.
I feel like this brush can be used for just about any face product like Blusher, Contouring, Powder and Foundation. These brushes also stand up on their own which stops your brushes rolling off your table and onto the floor while applying your makeup.
I’ve not had a problem which these brushes yet and I love the quality and how they apply makeup to your skin, I also like how they have two makeup brushes set which have every brush you need.
Also another great thing about these brushes are that they are 100% cruelty free!
These brushes are £8.99 in Superdrug and are sometimes on offer.
