Evening Skincare Routine | June 2015

IMG_2125

When it comes to your evening skin care routine it can be a bit of a chore. Sometimes when you come home after a long day of work or university you just want to climb into bed and relax. I like to make sure I cleanse my face and apply a moisturiser before going to bed, sometimes I do more of a deep cleanse on my face. I don’t use all these products I’m going to talk about in one night, I like to alternate between products.

Cleansers, Toners & Eye Lotion

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish

‘Rich and creamy, this hot cloth cleanser quickly removes daily grime and make up (even stubborn mascara) leaving all skin types clean, soft and radiant. With purifying eucalyptus essential oil, toning rosemary plus soothing chamomile and cocoa butter.’

I love using Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish in the evening as well as in the morning. I feel like it gives my skin a good deep cleanse. I prefer using this in the evening as I feel  like it gets all my makeup off as well as daily grime that clings to my skin throughout the day. This product is not heavy on the skin and does not leave your skin feeling greasy either, after using this I will just use a moisturiser and then leave my skin for the night.

Liz Earle Soothing Eye Lotion

‘Infused with a skin-calming blend of aloe vera, eyebright and witch hazel, this gentle herbal lotion cools, revitalises and brightens and can also be used to remove light eye make up. Suitable for contact lens wearers.’

I use the Liz Earle Soothing Eye Lotion after the Cleanse & Polish. This helps soothes the skin around my eye as well as removing the last traces of mascara and eyeshadow. Its lightweight and leaves your skin feeling hydrated.

No7 Soothed & Toned Gentle Toner

‘No7 Soft & Soothed Gentle Toner for Normal/Dry Skin refreshes, comforts and hydrates. No7 Toners are non-drying and pH balanced to work in harmony with your skin to leave your face clean, toned and supple.’

For days where I don’t want to give my skin a deep cleanse I like to use my No7 Soothed & Toned Toner. This is a light weight toner which removes my makeup and everything else. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and hydrated. This is my go to Toner as it just does an amazing job at toning my skin as well as removing dirt and makeup. After using this I will apply my moisturiser.

Lush Herbalism Cleanser

‘Nettles, rosemary and rice bran vinegar work to cleanse the skin, removing dirt and grease, leaving bright and beautifully clean skin. Chamomile blue oil and rose absolute are used for balancing skin tone. Rice bran and ground almonds will gently exfoliate the skin and when mixed with water, the almonds create a soft cleansing milk. Our chlorophyllin is extracted from alfalfa, which is rich in vitamins and minerals and is great for revitalising the skin.’

This has Lush Cleanser has recently become part of my evening routine, it helps revitalise the skin and also helps balance your skin tone. It’s not rough or heavy on the skin and is a great cleanser that helps scrub away dirt and leaves your skin feeling soft and looking brighter and hydrated. It’s a great alternative to the Liz Earle Cleanser and it’s also made up of natural products so its more gentle on your skin.

Moisturisers & Entertainment

Bio Oil

‘Bio Oil is a specialist skincare product that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone.’

I like to moisturise before I go to bed, I switch between Coco Butter and Bio Oil, I sometimes use Bio Oil on my face but I mainly use it on my legs. It’s quite greasy and takes a while to dry but it helps hydrate and moisturise my legs.

No7 Protect & Perfect Night Creme

‘Help your skin get a restful night’s sleep with this revitalising nightime formula, targeting the first signs of ageing. Created to be used with our Protect & Perfect Serum to help deliver even better results than the serum alone. Works to help your skin recover from the day and smooth fine lines leaving skin with healthy renewed radiance. With our patent pending antioxidant complex to help shield against free radical damage, plus our skin firming pro-retinol complex containing Lipopeptides to help boost and maintain elasticity.’

This is the moisturiser I use every night, it’s not heavy on the skin and it helps moisturise and keep my skin nourished. Even though it’s for older skin that are showing signs of ageing, I got it in my No7 Advent Calendar and I’ve been using a little every night and I really like this moisturiser as it does not weigh my skin down or leave it feeling dry or greasy.

After Cleansing and Moisturising my skin I like to climb into bed and either put a film or TV show on TV or read a book. I’m currently watching Game Of Thrones and I’m only one Season 3 and there’s so many spoilers over twitter and Facebook that I’m trying to go on them less so I don’t spoil the tv programme.

The Lie – C.L Taylor

I recently picked this up from Asda, I’ve been reading it outside when the weather was nice here in England. I finished it in 4 days as it was such a gripping story line I couldn’t put it down. It was around £4 and I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a good read while outside in the sun or before bed.
