H&M Beauty | First Impressions & Review

H&M Beauty | First Impressions & Review

If you know me, you know I’m a HUGE fan of H&M and whenever I buy clothes 90% are from this shop.
So when I found out they had brought out a Beauty range I grabbed my laptop and made an order.

If I’m honest I am quite surprised with the range of beauty items they have brought out. I was expecting just some nail polish and lipsticks but they literally have EVERYTHING you will need for a full face of make up, pamper items and shower/bath essentials. They also have make-up brushes, perfume and make-up bags!
What more could you ask for.

On the site they even have little videos to show you how to apply the makeup and what makeup looks you can create. I liked this as if your new to make-up or not as confident wearing/applying it, it helps you step by step on how to apply it and a few tips and tricks.

I didn’t buy a lot as my nearest store is in Liverpool which is a long train ride away and I didn’t have the time to go and test them out. So I bought some bits on the online site I knew I would like.

I have had this package for a week now and wanted to make sure I tested these products out before putting up this review so it was 100% honest.

Nail Polish | Russet Spice

I love the packaging of the Nail polishes and the colour range! There are so colours and shades to choose from, I ended up getting this Coppery Orange colour as we are getting closer to winter and I thought it would be a nice winter colour.

The colour is so pigmented and looks lovely in every light! It has a slight glittery shimmer to it which makes it look even nicer in the sun.

It stayed on my nails for around 6 days before chipping and that was without a top coat! I was impressed.

The only thing I don’t like about this Nail Polish is the brush. The brush is quite big and the brush bristles aren’t all together. But I can’t really complain as it’s cheaper than a lot of nail polishes.

The Nail Polishes range from £3.99 – £4.99

Eyebrow Kit | Caramel

I’ve been looking for a powder eyebrow kit for a while now but haven’t found one I really liked. I purchased a shade lighter by accident but it still blends in with my eyebrows and looks a lot more natural.

This kit is compact and easy to carry around with you, It also comes with two eyebrow colours (A light one and a darker one) and a wax to set your brows into place. The powder isn’t very pigmented but blends into your brows naturally.

The only downside to this Eyebrow kit is it does not come with a brush to apply the powder with. Luckily I have eyebrow brushes, But if you don’t just make sure when you buy this product you also buy an eyebrow brush.

This kit costs £5.99

Lipstick Pencil |  Bonne Vivante

I have been wearing a lot more lipsticks lately so I had a look at the ones H&M did and two caught my eye.

This first was this Lipstick Pencil in the shade Bonne Vivante which is this beautiful your lips but nicer colour! It looks great with pale skin and it also is a perfect shade for day and night!

This Lipstick is defiantly not a pencil it is more of a pigmented chubby stick, it’s very moisturising and pigmented.

I’ve been wearing this for the past few days and its very moisturising on the lips, it’s also very pigmented so you can either build it up or down.

If you are eating and drinking it can rub off your lips quite fast but if you’re not it stays on your lips for a long time without you having to re apply it constantly throughout the day.

The only thing I didn’t like about this product and I would change is that once you’ve used all the lipstick pencil up you can’t twist the bottom to get more. So you only have a certain amount of lip pencil to use before you need to go and repurchase it again.

I was so pleased with this Lipstick Pencil I’m defiantly going to repurchase it and try out their other shades!

This Lipstick Pencil is £4.99

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water | Review

‘A super efficient and gentle way to cleanse, remove makeup, soothe the feel of skin and hydrate in just one step – it’s not magic, it’s Garnier Micellar!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water contains micelles which act like magnets, gently lifting away makeup and impurities from the skin, without the need to rub or rinse. The result?

Beautifully cleansed and refreshed feeling skin in an instant. The formula is suitable for the face, eye area and lips, has no perfume and comes in a generous 400ml size.’

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I picked up the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water the other day in ASDA while I was shopping for University supplies. The small bottle was on offer for £1 and I decided to pick it up and try it because I had heard a lot of good reviews.

I picked up the small bottle as I wanted to try the product out and I did not want to pick up the large one incase I did not like it. The smaller bottle is perfect for travelling or taking with you when you stay over at a hotel or someones house.
The bottle fits in my makeup bag and it is easy to store and take with me to places.

Garnier have a few different Micellar Cleansing Waters.

The Micellar water does not have a perfume smell to it, which is good as I’m not a fan of perfumed face products as the smell tends to linger all day on the skin.

I have only used this product 4 times and I am already impressed with it.

I put the product on a cotton pad and wipe it across my skin and neck. It very lightweight and does not leave any residue on the skin. It also helped get rid of the makeup I had missed, It also cleansed my skin and hydrated it.
It saves a lot of time using this cleanser then other cleansers I own, you also don’t have to rinse or dry your face after using it.

This product is so gentle on the skin, it also does not feel as though it strips your skin it’s natural oils. It also does not leave your skin feeling greasy! It also does not irate the eyes which is great as you can use it all over your face and not have different products for different areas.

The product soaks into the cotton pad so you don’t need to use a lot, this makes it easier to wipe your face with the product on the cotton pad.

As this has no perfume in the product, I think any skin type can use this cleanser and not have to worry about it reacting to their skin.

Revlon Nearly Naked Powder & Colorstay Concealer | Review

These two Revlon products are not the newest but I got my hands on them a few months ago.
I really liked them so I thought I’d do a little review on them incase anyone else had their eyes on them and wanted to know what they are like.

I have had these two products for around 3 months now and have been testing them out so I can write an honest review on them.

Revlon Nearly Naked | Pressed Powder

‘Blends seamlessly with a lightweight feel
Evens skin tone
Provides a shine free, natural coverage’

I picked up this powder in the shade ‘010 Fair’ and I think it is a perfect colour match for my skin tone.
They don’t really have a huge colour section I think they only have around 4 shades which isn’t the best selection.
Needless to say the colour I picked up matches me perfect so I can’t complain.

This powder blends into my skin wonderfully and gives the appearance that I am not actually wearing any powder.
It is quick and easy to blend in and it is great if you are in a rush!

I apply this with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush as it helps blend the powder into my skin and gives me an even coverage and an even skin tone.

The Packaging

I like the white plastic packaging as it looks more expensive than it is.
It has a mirror on the inside which is great as you can use it while applying the product.
The two things I dislike are how long the product is as you can’t really throw it into your bag.
I prefer the circle pressed powder packaging.
The other thing I dislike is the sponge applicator you get with it as it falls out when you open the product and also gets really mucky if use it and you can’t really clean it so I threw mine away.

I think this powder ticks all the boxes on what it says it will do.
I use this most days and I think it is a good affordable powder.

This product is £7.99 and you can pick this up online here. Or find it in Boots or Superdrug.

Ombre At Home | September 2015

Ombre At Home

So I know the ‘Ombre’ Hair trend isn’t as huge as it was, but I personally still love the hair style and so does my sister.

My sister has had ombre hair for a while now and her hair was down to her hips, she recently got it cut to just below her shoulders and only an inch was showing of her ombre. So she asked me to re-do it for her and I took the opportunity to also blog about it incase you want to do this to your hair without forking out to have it do in a hairdressers.

Ombre is such an easy thing to do.

Here is my tips on how to Ombre your hair at home!

Before You Begin

Please note that your hair will dye better if its ‘Virgin hair’ meaning you haven’t dyed it before.
If you have dyed your hair it might take a little longer and another application before it turns out perfect.
Make sure you test the bleach on your skin 48 hours before you use it to make sure you are not allergic to it.
