Hi i’m Katie from Katekiwii.com. I wanted to write a little post about how I started my blog.
I did a post on this at the beginning of this year and just thought I would update it.
I hope my tips and advice will help you out if your a new blogger.
Feel free to comment your advice and tips to help new bloggers.

This blog post is a long one so I’ve spilt it into sections!

I’ve wanted to blog now for a few years but always put myself off because I had very little to blog about and never had a good quality camera to take pictures of the products I wanted to review. When I came to university I started to buy more things like beauty items and a camera which then gave me more things to talk about and helped me take good quality pictures and videos to put on my blog.

A huge thing that put me off was my anxiety, At the back of my head I always thought no one would read my blog posts and that my posts won’t be as good as other people’s. But I’ve proved myself wrong and I have created the blog I have always dreamed of having!

You don’t have to have a lot of money to have a blog, you can write about anything you want and review all the products you have in your cupboard you don’t have to go out and buy new things. Do not let the idea of having to have lot’s of money and new products put you off blogging.

I started my blog because I am one of those people who google everything! And I’m not even joking, if I have a problem or need some advice on something I’m straight on to google and clicking every link that stands out to me.

So, I wanted my blog to be that place where if someone googled ‘How do I make my hair thicker?’ my blog would come up with the answer, as I always wanted just one place where I could find all the answers to the questions I had.

So if you every need a blog post about something and I have the answer or product feel free and I will write that blog post for you.

How I Started Blogging.

I started my blog back in my first year of university. I came across WordPress because me and Blogger just didn’t get on. I fell in love with WordPress because of how easy it was to use and how you could make your blog the way you wanted it to look.

I went on a day out to liverpool and bought a few items from lush, I decided to take photo’s from my lush haul. I had the lush haul blog post in the draft folder for months before I eventually plucked up the courage to hit ‘publish’. The pictures were taken on my iPhone and I put it all together on the WordPress app on my iPad. I finally uploaded it after months of it being in that folder and since then I’ve not stopped blogging and I’m glad I found the courage to upload it and that’s how my blog started.

Deep Cleanse Your Hair | TRESemme Review

IMG_2703

Your hair goes through a lot. You apply numerous amounts of products to it, you wash it with shampoo and conditioner that can weigh it down.
So every once a week/month your hair deserves a deep cleanse.
Just make sure after you use these products you also use a shampoo that is moisturising and helps replenish your hair as these shampoos can strip your hair from them while you use them to strip build up of oils and products.

Also if you dye your hair this shampoo can strip some colour out of it.

What Is A Deep Cleanse?
A deep cleanse for you hair is like a deep cleanse for your face. It helps remove all the build up and daily grime from your hair.
So all the product build up that may be weighing your hair down is washed away and your hair is left product free.

Why Use Deep Cleansing Shampoo?

Professional quality formula clarifies hair to remove build up and residues restoring your hair’s natural vitality. This multi-vitamin formula, gentle enough for daily use, intensely purifies to give that salon fresh feeling.

TRESemme Cleanse & Renew Shampoo

I spent ages looking online and in shops to try to find a good deep clean shampoo.
I came across the TRESemme shampoo in SuperDrug and decided to give it a go. It comes in this HUGE bottle which will get a lot of use out as I won’t be using it every day.
I like to use it once a month to make sure my hair gets a really good deep clean and all the product build gets removed.
After I had applied it to my hair and was rinsing it out my hair already felt so much nicer and less weight down.

When I first used this shampoo I noticed how much it lathers into your hair, so a small amount goes a long way.
It smells like the typical TRESemme product so the smell isn’t overpowering or strong.
I did google reviews on this product before using it and I found so many positive reviews.

I will be trying out other deep cleansing hair shampoos but up to know, TRESemme is my favourite as it works so well and it’s also affordable.

If you have oily hair its a good shampoo for an everyday use, just make sure you have a good conditioner to pair with it.

Maybelline Master Ink & Brow Satin |Review

Maybelline Master Ink & Brow Satin | Review

IMG_2681

I purchased these two products in Superdrug two weeks ago. In those two weeks since purchasing I have tried and tested these two products and they have found a place into my makeup bag.
I wanted to try out a new eyebrow product and came across the Maybelline eyebrow product range.
I then also decided to try out their liquid eyeliner and picked up the Master Ink.

Maybelline Brow Satin

‘Get natural looking full brows, with our new brow duo.’

I decided to get the Brow Satin because it has a pencil at one end and a powder at the other.
So you get two products in one that work well together.

First I use the pencil side to lightly fill in any sparse areas of my brow. Then I go in with the powder to help blend the products together to give a more natural look to my eyebrows. I love the colour range of this product as the shade I chose ‘Medium Brown’ blends in with my natural brow colour perfectly. It also lasts throughout the day and does not fade.

The pencil is not hard or harsh on the brows and you can easily blend or wipe it away without any fuss. The powder applicator is the right size for filling in the brows. You can slowly build up however much product you want, so you can have a natural brow look or a more defined look.

Do I think this is worth the money? Definitely.

It might not be everyone’s go to Eyebrow product, But I like it a lot and think its worth the money.

This product is £5.99 and you can find it here.

Maybelline Master Ink

‘Introducing Master Ink Liquid Eyeliner. Our first liquid liner with a Smart Tip brush for easy to draw, no mess lines with black carbon pigments for deep black intensity. Smudgeproof, Longwear formula. Available in 3 shades; Matte, Satin & Glitter’

This eyeliner has become my favourite daily eyeliner.

I am a big fan of this eyeliner tip. So when I opened it in the shop I knew I wanted to buy it.
This long thin tip makes it SO easy to apply eyeliner to your lid. You can make your eyeliner as thick or thin as you want.

This product is also perfect if you like doing a winged eyeliner look. In the morning I can quickly do my eyeliner without no hassle and quickly get out the door without having to keep wiping my mistakes away and reapplying.  This eyeliner also does not crease or spilt throughout the day. It stays on until you want it to come off.

I don’t have much to say about this product apart from that I really like it and I highly recommend it.

Do I think it’s worth the money? Yes!
I think its such a good, hassle free eyeliner that anyone can use.

This product is £4.99 and you can find it here.

There’s currently a ‘Buy one get the second half price’ On these two Maybelline products In Boots.

Have you tried these products? What’s your opinion on them?

Maybelline | Master Ink Eyeliner

I have had this eyeliner for just over a week, It’s hands down the best eyeliner I have purchased!
The brush is perfect for doing fine lines and creating a winged eyeliner look. The thin brush makes it easy to create either a thick or thin eyeliner line. If your new to applying eyeliner you will be able to apply it easily with this brush.
I use most days when I wear eyeliner and i prefer this over all my other liquid eyeliners.

A full review on this product will be up next Sunday!
So if you want to know more about this eyeliner make sure you check it out.

I can’t find this product online but I know you can pick it up in Superdrug.
It’s around £5.

Maybelline | Brow Satin

I have been searching for a good eye brow pencil/ powder for a while and I picked this up brow product up with the eyeliner.
It is perfect for lightly filling in your brows naturally!
It has two sides on the Browtastic, one side has the pencil and the other has a powder applicator.

The pencil is perfect for lightly filling in the sparse area of your brows and the powder helps blend everything together for a more even, natural look.  I got the shade Medium Brown which is perfect shade for my brows.

There will also be a full review on this product next Sunday!
