Lacura brought out a facial cleansing brush a while ago and when I went to buy it I couldn’t find it instore and it was sold out online. I’ve looked everywhere for a similar brush as it comes with all different brush heads and a body brush. On amazon I found a nice facial cleanser brush with a variety of brush heads, these were expensive and I was unsure on ordering it so left it in my basket.

Recently I went to Aldi to do my shop and picked up one of their weekly booklets, in their was there was a Visage Facial Cleanser and I was so happy to see they had brought out another one! It came in two different colours, white and silver and white and metallic rose. It has 5 brush heads and a body brush!

I went into the shop the day before it was brought out and was surprised to see a man stocking the Visage Facial Cleanser on the shop floor. I grabbed the rose gold one as I didn’t want to chance not buying it and it going out of stock again.

Review

This is supposed to be a dupe of the Clarins Facial Brush but because I have never used that product I cant really say if its the same or better then that product.

First time I used it I used the normal brush head, I used it with my daily facial cleanser. I did expect the brush head to be really soft but it was a little rough on the skin, but after a while it felt a lot nicer on the skin, I was worried it might make my skin red but it made my skin feel so soft! For some reason I expected the brush head to rotate but it just vibrates. Which is good because it doesn’t lather the product loads and I find it works the product into the skin nicely.

The brush heads are small enough for you to get everywhere on your face, there is two brush heads for skin massage and one that helps with blood circulation which will be good to use with a sheet face mask on. The massage ones I find perfect for using on the face when you have a sheet mask on, it feels nice and massages the product into the skin.

It leaves skin feeling so soft and cleansed and I cant wait to use it daily to give my face deep clean and sometimes I find you still have makeup on your face after cleaning it. This brush works well into the skin and removes all traces of makeup while also giving your skin a nice deep cleanse.

The product isn’t loud, it sounds the same as an electric toothbrush so the noise isn’t annoying. It is very light weight and its great that it comes with a holder so you can store it nicely.

I’m looking forward to using the body brush as I think paired with an exfoliator especially on my legs it will help with stretch marks and getting rid of dead skin to help new skin growth which will allow stretch marks to fade.

IMG_4063

Overall.

I now have had this product since Christmas, in order to do a truthful review on the product I have used it every day using the different brush heads. For nearly 3 weeks I have cleansed my face using the soft brush head, I have used the body one after a shower and before moisturising, and used the massaging brush heads when I used facemask. All in all I have really liked this product from Aldi, I do wish that it would be chargeable but other then that I cant fault this product at all.

Pros;

  • Variety of brush heads, gives you options. Theres 6 brushes in total and a body brush.
  • Makes skin feel soft and clean!
  • It isnt harsh on the skin, doesnt make your skin go red.
  • Gives it a good deep clean
  • Has a brush holder so that it is easy to store.

Cons;

The two things I dislike on this are that it is battery operated and brushes can feel a little harsh on skin when you first use them, but that might be because im not used to using a facial cleanser brush. It would also be nice to have a little bag to keep all the attachaments in so they can all be stored together but for £12.99 you cant really beat the quality and usage of the product.

This product is £12.99 you can find it instore at Aldi or online here as they are still in stock!

NSPA – Deep Cleansing Mud Mask | Review

IMG_3370.JPG

NSPA – Deep Cleansing Mud Mask

A Dead-sea mineral mud mask to treat and refresh the skin for a beautiful complexion.

With Dead-Sea minerals, natural Beeswax and Seaweed extracts to deeply cleanse the pores and replenish tire skin.

How To Use

Apply to clean, damp skin with your fingertips, avoiding the immediate eye area. Relax and enjoy for up to 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water and gently pat dry.

1.jpg

Most Sunday evenings I like to have a pamper day….who doesn’t?
I love to have a hot bubble bath, put a good film on my TV, apply a hair mask to my hair and put a face mask on.

I have ran out of my Lush face masks and do not have any others so I went to ASDA (my local supermarket)  in search of a face mask because you can’t have a pamper day without a good face mask! I found this NSPA mask in the beauty isle and I have never heard of this brand before.

I picked it up because I wanted to try it out and as it comes in a small packet I knew if i did not like it I would not have wasted money or product.

2.jpg

Review

My first impression of this face mask was that even though it is a little packet, you do get a lot of product in it. You can get around 3-4 face masks out of this if you use it evenly, which I found great. Because you can get more then one use out of this packet and it is obliviously not reseable. I suggest folding the top over and holding it with a clip or putting it into an empty container to stop it from drying out.

The product is not messy,  as it is a clay mask it is a thick consitensy which is easily spreadable on the skin. It dries quite fast and it goes lighter when it is fully dry so you know when to wash it off. When on the skin it is not harsh and when drying it can itch a little but that is all.

Once dried I took a face cloth, soaked it in water and wiped the mask off my skin. It was easy to remove which I like as nobody likes a face mask that is hard to remove and messy.

IMG_3383.JPG

Overall

My skin felt really nice and smooth after using this, I thought my skin also looked nicer. My skin did not feel irritable after using this face mask and I just put my favourite moisturiser on after taking the mask off.

I would recommend buying if you are looking for a new face mask to try as you can buy the small packet to try it out and then if you like it you can buy the bigger tub.

This product is £1.59 in ASDA and you can find the full products on the NSPA website here.

Have you tried out any of NSPA products?
What is your favourite face mask?

Review

Previous from my other Clinique blog post, I also picked up this Clinique Airbrush Concealer. The sales assistant at Clinique also chose the colour that matched my skin colour perfectly and also tried this on my under eyes as well as a few blemishes to see what I thought of it before buying it.

This is the one of the great things I love about Clinique is that they will happily match you up to the products, try it out on you and let you walk around for a while with whatever product you are testing on to see if you like it.

This Airbrushed Concealer is a lightweight concealer that is light to medium coverage. When I put it on my under eyes it not only makes my dark circles less visible but it also brightens the area as well. It helps cover blemishes and redness well without leaving your skin cakey.

I have worn this on long days out and also in hot weather and it has not run or come off which is great. The brush applicator lets you easily place the product in the are which is needed, I then like to blend it in with my Real Techniques Stippling brush.

The only bad thing about this concealer is you can not tell when it is running out!

L’Oréal Elvive Colour Protect Caring Shampoo & Conditioner | Review

IMG_3300

The science of coloured hair

Repeated washing, sun exposure, pollution and external aggressions can make coloured hair more sensitive. With time colour fades, losing its shine and intensity.

The secret to colour protection

The L’Oréal laboratories have created a formula which acts on 3 Dimensions of colour – Intensity, Luminosity, Reflection:

1 Maintains Colour Intensity: The new Colour-Seal Elixir™ has been developed to intensively condition, to help protect colour from fading and preserve its intensity.

2 Protects Hair: The formula enriched with UVA/UVB Filters protects coloured hair from external aggressions. Hair looks full of life.

3 Prolongs Radiance: The formula with Concentrated Nourishment intensely nourishes the hair and smoothes its surface. Shine is revived and radiance is prolonged.

Proven results

Intense, radiant colour: 80% of colour radiance maintained after 28 washes*

*Instrumental test after application of shampoo, conditioner and Extraordinary oil for coloured hair.

How to Use

Work through the lengths of your hair, right to the tips, and then rinse. Follow with Colour Protect Conditioner, or for even more care and protection, try Colour Protect Masque.

IMG_3303

I get my hair dyed and I always want to try and keep the colour vibrant and shiny as long as I can.

I love the L’Oreal Elvive range and did not know that they had a colour protect caring range.I came across this colour protect caring shampoo and conditioner in superdrug on offer. I do not normally use conditioner but decided to give both ago.

I have been using this for around a month now I wanted to make sure I used it for a while before I blogged about it so I could see if it actually does what it says it will. After using it every time I washed my hair, it made my hair always looks nice and shiny and still looks freshly dyed. My hair does not look dull which is amazing as when you dye your hair you do not want it to look dull after a month or more.

IMG_3306.JPG

This shampoo does not weigh my hair down and and using the conditioner only on my ends help to keep my hair looking nice and shiny without looking weighed down.

I am impressed with this as some shampoos can pull the colour out of your hair and because this is for colour protection it helps lock the colour in and keep it nice before you dye your hair again.

IMG_3309.JPG

I would highly recomend this shampoo and conditioner to anyone who wants to keep their hair colour looking fresh for as long as possible!

1.jpg

The first picture is when I got my hair dyed and the second picture was taken around a month later and you can see how it helps keep my colour looking new!

You can find this product in most shops.

Clinique Superbalanced Foundation | Review

IMG_6444.jpegClinique Superbalanced Foundation

‘Provides comfortable moderate coverage, imparting a natural finish. Absorbs oil where needed. Minimises the appearance of fine lines. Stays true to colour.Contains anti-oxidants and anti-irritants. Streak proof, perspiration proof. Non-acnegenic, oil free and Ophthalmologist tested.’

I have been after a new foundation for a while and I decided to try out some from Clinique. I always go into the Boots in manchester when buying from Clinique, I love the sales assistants who work there as they are always so helpful and kind.

IMG_8150

I told one of the ladies I was after a new foundation and I wanted a dewy finish that was a light coverage which is build buildable. She recommended me the Superbalenced foundation and found my colour match and applied it to my face so I could see whether or not I liked it. I wore it for the rest of the day while shopping and I liked how subtle it was on my skin and how fresh and even it made my skin look. It did not go cakey which sold it to me as I hate when foundation looks cakey on the skin.

IMG_0038.jpeg

With this foundation, a little goes a long way. I apply dots of it onto my face then I take my Real Techniques Stippling brush and work it into my skin until it is blended. Then I apply concealer if needed and then set it all with some powder. It stays on my face throughout the day without needed any touch ups.

IMG_4102

I have been using this foundation for around 4 months now and it has not broke out my skin or dried it up. If I am wearing foundation I like to use a heavy moisturiser so this foundation sits on the skin without drying it.

PicMonkey Collage

As you can see the foundation blends into my skin without it being noticeable. The colour match is the perfect match for me and if you are interested it trying this foundation out you can always go to your nearest Clinique store and ask if you can try it on throughout the day to see if you like it.

IMG_6825

This foundation is perfect for anyone who likes minimal looking makeup and does not wear foundation a lot. It blends nicely into your skin and looks natural. I love using this foundation on days where I want a bit more coverage and want my skin looking more even.

This foundation is on the more high end price at £22.50 but I think it is worth the price. You can find it at Clinique online or in store and also in Boots.

Life With MCM | Blog

Megan McCoig’s blog is a Beauty/Lifestyle blog. Her blog is full of helpful, detailed blog posts of reviews on high end but also drug store beauty products. The layout of her blog is so simple and easy to read. I am a recent follower of her blog and now it is one of my favourites to read. When you read her blog posts, you can see how much effort goes into them. Her pictures always give me photo envy as they look so professional! She also does blog posts on Travel and Inspiration.

I’m Megan McCoig a 20 year old student studying Media and Cultural Studies at the University of the Arts London. My blog is here to share my lifestyle interests, such as travel, beauty, inspiration and personal thoughts.

From reading blogs across many categories I was recently inspired to start writing about my passions and what I enjoy in life.

Here’s a brief insight into what you’ll see across each category:
Beauty – I thoroughlyenjoy trying and sharing products from both high end and high street brands. I will be sharing reviews, tips and tutorials to share which beauty products I use and how I use them.
Travel – One of my desires is to travel, and being a student it can be hard to do so. So, when I do get the time and money this is what I do. When I travel I love to document with photos and videos, which I will be sharing along with what I did and enjoyed.
Inspiration – These photos will focus on my personal thoughts and views on many different topics. I will post inspiration that I have written or documented myself, or some stuff that inspires me. This could be anything from a feature I have written to things (objects, people, spaces etc.) that have inspired me to write about and share.

I hope you enjoy what I share with you – feel free to comment and share

Makeup Haul

Before Christmas, I entered Megan McCoig giveaway. I woke up to a message on twitter that I had won it and I was over the moon!. I was a recent reader of her blog and her giveaway contained make up I wanted to try and an eye shadow palette I wanted to buy but was never in the shop when I went to get it.

So when I found out I had won it, I was so happy and excited. I thought I would do a post on what I got with a little review of each product. A few days later I received it and I was excited to try out the makeup products.

IMG_3033.JPG

PicMonkey Collage.jpg

Revolution | Flawless Matte
I have had my eye on this palette for a while now and it was always out of stock when I went to buy it. It is full of every day eyeshadows. They are so pigmented and easily bendable.

PicMonkey Collage7.jpg

Elf | Blush Peach Keen
I have never owned or used any Elf products, so I was excited to try them out as I have heard a lot about them. This blush is a gorgeous colour.

PicMonkey Collage6.jpg

Rimmel | Glam Eyes Black Eyeliner
If you read me my blog, you know I am a huge lover of eyeliners that are thin at the end. They are so much easy to do winged liner and you always get a nice thin line.

PicMonkey Collage5.jpg

Eyeko -Black Magic Mascara
Again with Eyeko, I love their eyeliner so I was excited to try out their mascara. This has now made it into my every day make up bag! It lengths, curls and thickens the look of my lashes. I also love the packaging.

PicMonkey Collage3.jpg

Two Faced | Nude Melted Liquified Lipstick
Two faced is another product I have heard about but never used or owned. I love the packaging of this product also, the colour is lovely nude shade and looks lovely on!

IMG_30671PicMonkey Collage

Rimmel | Kate Lipstick
I love this shade of red! It is perfect for when you are wearing minimal makeup. This lipstick is also so moisturising and I am happy Megan put this in as a surprise as its a lovely lipstick.

Lee Stafford – My Big Fat Healthy Hair Shampoo | Review

IMG_3227.JPG

Lee Stafford – My Big Fat Healthy Hair

So this is another Lee Stafford review as lately I am loving his Hair Growth product range and decided to try some of his other hair products out. I have tried his Hair Growth range and you can see the review on the Hair Growth: Shampoo and Hair Mask here or the Hair Growth: Leave In Treatment here.

IMG_3228.JPG

Review

‘With PRO-VOLUME™ Complex for bigger, fuller fatter hair. Lee Stafford My Big Fat Healthy Hair shampoo boosts hair’s body and texture, enhances gloss and shine, and banishes dulling deposits that make hair go lank and limp. The PRO-VOLUME™ Complex is a combination of hair conditioning agents to add volume.’

You use this like normal shampoo, you massage it into your hair from roots to tip. Then rinse, repeat and use your conditioner.

I love this smell of this product and it does linger on the hair but not for a long time.
The one thing I do not like about this product is that it lathers a little too much, so you do not need much of the product. This may not sound like a bad thing for a shampoo, but it lathers that much I spend more time rinsing it out to make sure it all out of my hair.

IMG_3231

The thing that drew me into buying this shampoo was the ‘Pro Volume for Fatter Hair’.
My hair is quite thin and can sometimes look very limp and I like to use products that add that bit of volume without weighing my hair down. So when I saw that it helps to keep hair looking thicker and fuller I had to pick it up and try it out.

It does not give my hair loads of volume but I can tell it looks less thin and limp. It does not dry my hair out or weigh it down which is a great as you don’t want your shampoo doing that. It makes my hair look and feel so much nicer and also helps it feel thicker.

It has not done wonders to my hair but overall it is a good shampoo but if your looking for a shampoo to make your hair appear thicker and fuller this might not do that.

Another point for people who dye their hair, It does not strip any colour out of your hair so do not worry about it stripping the colour out.

This shampoo is £5.99 and you can find it here.

Have you tried this product out or any of the Lee Stafford Products?

Lee Stafford – Hair Growth: Leave In Treatment | Review

IMG_3224.JPG

Lee Stafford – Hair Growth: Leave in Treatment

I am a huge fan of the Lee Stafford Hair Growth range. Last year around this time I bought the Lee Stafford Hair Growth shampoo and hair mask. Since then it has been one of my go to hair products as my hair was stuck at the awkward shoulder length and did not seem to grow or want to grow. I tried a lot of other things like cutting out using heat on my hair and stopped dying it before finding the Lee Stafford range. Since using this I have noticed that my hair is finally starting to grow a lot more and it a lot more healthy looking as well as feeling!
You can find my review on those products here.

Lee Stafford Hair Growth – Shampoo & Mask Review

Lee Stafford – Leave In Treatment

After using the shampoo and hair mask for a year now, I noticed they had a leave in treatment hair spray from the same range. At first I did not want to use this as I thought it would weigh my hair down or make it look greasy. As I said in a previous blog post, I am not a huge fan of putting oils and products in my hair as sometimes they make my hair go greasy and do more bad then good in my eyes.

I decided to pick it up and give it a go. I was happy when I got back home and tried it out as it smells like the other products and I am a huge fan of the smell. It lingers for ages and smells so refreshing. I have only been using this for 2 weeks so I have not noticed a huge difference in my hair growth like I have with the two other Lee Stafford products. This product is light on your hair and after applying it and drying your hair it is not even noticeable and does not look like you have not put any products in your hair.

Billion Dollar Brows – Review

Billion Dollar Brows – First Impressions & Review

Billion Dollar Brows are a company I’ve only just recently heard of.  They have recently started selling their products in Boots. When I saw their brow kits I wanted to try them out as I have been trying to find brow products to create the perfect brow.

Both of these kits are handy and have all the products and tools you need to help create the perfect brow!

Eyebrows are one of the most important features of our faces – and yet they are often the most neglected.
We believe that beautiful brows are a right, not a privilege. Our products are priced fairly so that you don’t have to break the bank to have Billion Dollar Brows.

IMG_3140.JPG

Billion Dollar Brows – Best Seller Kit

The first brow kit contains all 5 brow products which help you create the perfect brow!

1) Universal Brow Pencil: Formulated to work beautifully with most skin tones and hair colors, this amazing eyebrow pencil goes on smooth and natural. It never needs sharpening and comes complete with a spoolie brush for effortless blending and a perfect finish.

IMG_3150.JPG

PicMonkey Collage1.jpg

This brow duo is so easy to use and because its both on one applicator it makes it easier to switch from the pencil to the spoolie. The brow pencil matches my brows perfectly and helps you create the perfect brow and also helps you to create a thicker brow.

2) Brow Duo Pencil: Highlights your brow bone to add gorgeous definition and warmth while providing instant visual lift. The highlighter works with every skin tone. On the opposite end, is a universal consealer for on-the-go touchups.

IMG_3170

PicMonkey Collage3

This brow duo pencil helps to highlight your brow bone and also the concealer is perfect to use under your eyes or to conceal around your eyebrows.

3) Brow Gel: Our clear brow gel locks in your look, giving your eyebrows a long-lasting, radiant glow while keeping them perfectly in place all day.

IMG_3145

IMG_3148

I am not the biggest fan of Brow Gels and I have not used one in years, but when I tried this product out it helped hold my brows into place all day and did not make my eyebrows look wet or make my brows go hard.

4) Smudge Brush: This flat, synthetic brush is the ideal mate for applying creamy cosmetics like our Brow Duo Pencil.

IMG_3166.JPG

IMG_3168

This smudge brush works perfect with the Duo Brow Pencil. It helps to blend everything into place. The brush is soft and not harsh on your skin.

All together this kit was easy to use and all the products helped to pull together the perfect brow in little time and effort.

I think this kit is perfect high end kit if you love doing your eyebrows and like Gels and Pencils, It would also make a great gift to someone who is starting out in makeup!

This set costs £49.50 and you can find it online here.

Billion Dollar Brows – 60 Seconds to Beautiful Brows

Be fabulous in 60 seconds. Add a brilliant pop of color to your brows in just a minute. This essential kit includes two must-have brow products: 1 Brow Powder Taupe and 1 Brow Brush.

IMG_3121.JPG

PicMonkey Collage4.jpg

The vegan friendly Taupe formula is made for most light and dark brunettes. For a quick touchup, dab the powder and glide along your brow line with our angled brush and blend with spoolie brush for beautiful brows.

IMG_3137.JPG
How To use:
For a quick touchup, dab the powder and glide along your brow line with our angled brush and blend with spoolie brush for beautiful brows

This Kit is so quick and easy to use!
I brush my brows out with the spoolie brush and then go in with the powder and the angled brow brush to fill in my brows. I then use the spoolie again to brush out my brows and to make sure everything is blended.

The brush is my favourite as you have the two applicators you need in one! The brush is the right size to help you fill in your brows and its so gentle on your skin.

The eyebrow powder is the perfect colour, at first I thought the powder would be too dark for me but it blends in with my hair colour and makes my brows look natural!

I have been using this every day for the past week and it has given me natural looking eyebrows that take less then 2 minutes to create! What I’ve loved the most is my friends and others complimenting my brows!
I think this kit would also make a good present for someone.

This fantastic Kit is £24.00 and you can find it online here.

12376416_10153356630407616_1392307146511672427_n

These are my brows filled in with the Taupe eyebrow powder, as you can see it helps to fill them it to make them appear thicker while still looking natural. I also set them with the Brow Gel.

I have had compliments off my friends on my brows and how natural they look. I have been using these products on rotation for around 1 week now and they have found a place in my every day makeup back. I was quite pleased with the quality with these products and how well they work.

For more information about these products and this brand visit their website www.billiondollarbrows.com to also see their other eyebrow products click this link . I have my eye on their Brow Boost as I have heard so many amazing reviews on them!

Out of the two, my favourite is the 60 seconds to beautiful brows. It is the perfect little kit for your eyebrows without any fuss. It’s worth the price and all the products are high quality.

Have you tried any of these products out? What is your favourite?

Silver Flowers Jewellery | Review

Silver Flowers Necklace

‘A husband & wife team offering unique accessories, jewellery & gift items for either yourself or your loved ones!’

I found this shop when I went into Manchester to look around the German markets. This shop caught my eye as they had so many pretty necklaces and earrings on show! I find this type of jewellery so unique and pretty because I love flowers and they look so dainty in the necklaces.

Our jewellery collections capture still life by using real flowers, beautifully combined with hand crafted Sterling Silver (925) to produce unique designs, including classic, contemporary and Art Nouveau styles.’

IMG_3018.JPG

The flowers have been cleverly cultivated by our specialist gardeners, briefly dried and set in resin to preserve each beautiful flower. Sue to the craftwork involved all our jewellery is individually unique. Each item is stylishly gift boxed making the perfect present and one to always be cherished  Pendents include 18″ Sterling Silver chain.’

IMG_3024.JPG

Teardrop Mixed Necklace

I really liked this teardrop necklace as it looks so dainty and cute with the tiny flowers inside. It also looks nice on and goes with almost any outfit. I’ve also had people ask where my necklace is from as it is a unique and a one off necklace.
Because they are individually made, no two necklaces will be the same so you have your own unique necklace which I find amazing!

They have a wide range of different beautiful flowers in necklaces, earrings, bracelets and cuff links.

I got this for £15. You can find it here.

IMG_3022.JPG

I think these are such a great unique gift idea as they are not something you would buy for yourself.

The quality of this necklace is amazing, the chain is strong and not too delicate. The chain does not tangle easy as some chains ive had have been so dainty they have tangled easily and it has become hard for me too untangle them. The flowers are secure and do not feel like they are going to become loose or break.

Flowers They Include:

Flower Collections
Rose Buds, Forget-Me-Nots, Poppies, Pansies, Daisies & an array of stunning mixed flowers.
Rose Buds
The ancient Greeks & Romans identified the Rose flower with the Goddess of Love, symbolising love & beauty. The rose is the national flower of England.
