Most Sunday evenings I like to have a pamper day….who doesn’t?
I love to have a hot bubble bath, put a good film on my TV, apply a hair mask to my hair and put a face mask on.

I have ran out of my Lush face masks and do not have any others so I went to ASDA (my local supermarket)  in search of a face mask because you can’t have a pamper day without a good face mask! I found this NSPA mask in the beauty isle and I have never heard of this brand before.

I picked it up because I wanted to try it out and as it comes in a small packet I knew if i did not like it I would not have wasted money or product.

Review

My first impression of this face mask was that even though it is a little packet, you do get a lot of product in it. You can get around 3-4 face masks out of this if you use it evenly, which I found great. Because you can get more then one use out of this packet and it is obliviously not reseable. I suggest folding the top over and holding it with a clip or putting it into an empty container to stop it from drying out.

The product is not messy,  as it is a clay mask it is a thick consitensy which is easily spreadable on the skin. It dries quite fast and it goes lighter when it is fully dry so you know when to wash it off. When on the skin it is not harsh and when drying it can itch a little but that is all.

Once dried I took a face cloth, soaked it in water and wiped the mask off my skin. It was easy to remove which I like as nobody likes a face mask that is hard to remove and messy.

IMG_3383.JPG

Overall

My skin felt really nice and smooth after using this, I thought my skin also looked nicer. My skin did not feel irritable after using this face mask and I just put my favourite moisturiser on after taking the mask off.

I would recommend buying if you are looking for a new face mask to try as you can buy the small packet to try it out and then if you like it you can buy the bigger tub.

This product is £1.59 in ASDA and you can find the full products on the NSPA website here.

Have you tried out any of NSPA products?
What is your favourite face mask?

Review

Previous from my other Clinique blog post, I also picked up this Clinique Airbrush Concealer. The sales assistant at Clinique also chose the colour that matched my skin colour perfectly and also tried this on my under eyes as well as a few blemishes to see what I thought of it before buying it.

This is the one of the great things I love about Clinique is that they will happily match you up to the products, try it out on you and let you walk around for a while with whatever product you are testing on to see if you like it.

This Airbrushed Concealer is a lightweight concealer that is light to medium coverage. When I put it on my under eyes it not only makes my dark circles less visible but it also brightens the area as well. It helps cover blemishes and redness well without leaving your skin cakey.

I have worn this on long days out and also in hot weather and it has not run or come off which is great. The brush applicator lets you easily place the product in the are which is needed, I then like to blend it in with my Real Techniques Stippling brush.

The only bad thing about this concealer is you can not tell when it is running out!

The science of coloured hair

Repeated washing, sun exposure, pollution and external aggressions can make coloured hair more sensitive. With time colour fades, losing its shine and intensity.

The secret to colour protection

The L’Oréal laboratories have created a formula which acts on 3 Dimensions of colour – Intensity, Luminosity, Reflection:

1 Maintains Colour Intensity: The new Colour-Seal Elixir™ has been developed to intensively condition, to help protect colour from fading and preserve its intensity.

2 Protects Hair: The formula enriched with UVA/UVB Filters protects coloured hair from external aggressions. Hair looks full of life.

3 Prolongs Radiance: The formula with Concentrated Nourishment intensely nourishes the hair and smoothes its surface. Shine is revived and radiance is prolonged.

Proven results

Intense, radiant colour: 80% of colour radiance maintained after 28 washes*

*Instrumental test after application of shampoo, conditioner and Extraordinary oil for coloured hair.

How to Use

IMG_3303

I get my hair dyed and I always want to try and keep the colour vibrant and shiny as long as I can.

I love the L’Oreal Elvive range and did not know that they had a colour protect caring range.I came across this colour protect caring shampoo and conditioner in superdrug on offer. I do not normally use conditioner but decided to give both ago.

I have been using this for around a month now I wanted to make sure I used it for a while before I blogged about it so I could see if it actually does what it says it will. After using it every time I washed my hair, it made my hair always looks nice and shiny and still looks freshly dyed. My hair does not look dull which is amazing as when you dye your hair you do not want it to look dull after a month or more.

IMG_3306.JPG

This shampoo does not weigh my hair down and and using the conditioner only on my ends help to keep my hair looking nice and shiny without looking weighed down.

I am impressed with this as some shampoos can pull the colour out of your hair and because this is for colour protection it helps lock the colour in and keep it nice before you dye your hair again.

IMG_3309.JPG

I would highly recomend this shampoo and conditioner to anyone who wants to keep their hair colour looking fresh for as long as possible!

The first picture is when I got my hair dyed and the second picture was taken around a month later and you can see how it helps keep my colour looking new!

You can find this product in most shops.

Clinique Superbalanced Foundation | Review

IMG_6444.jpegClinique Superbalanced Foundation

‘Provides comfortable moderate coverage, imparting a natural finish. Absorbs oil where needed. Minimises the appearance of fine lines. Stays true to colour.Contains anti-oxidants and anti-irritants. Streak proof, perspiration proof. Non-acnegenic, oil free and Ophthalmologist tested.’

I have been after a new foundation for a while and I decided to try out some from Clinique. I always go into the Boots in manchester when buying from Clinique, I love the sales assistants who work there as they are always so helpful and kind.

IMG_8150

I told one of the ladies I was after a new foundation and I wanted a dewy finish that was a light coverage which is build buildable. She recommended me the Superbalenced foundation and found my colour match and applied it to my face so I could see whether or not I liked it. I wore it for the rest of the day while shopping and I liked how subtle it was on my skin and how fresh and even it made my skin look. It did not go cakey which sold it to me as I hate when foundation looks cakey on the skin.

IMG_0038.jpeg

With this foundation, a little goes a long way. I apply dots of it onto my face then I take my Real Techniques Stippling brush and work it into my skin until it is blended. Then I apply concealer if needed and then set it all with some powder. It stays on my face throughout the day without needed any touch ups.

IMG_4102

I have been using this foundation for around 4 months now and it has not broke out my skin or dried it up. If I am wearing foundation I like to use a heavy moisturiser so this foundation sits on the skin without drying it.

PicMonkey Collage

As you can see the foundation blends into my skin without it being noticeable. The colour match is the perfect match for me and if you are interested it trying this foundation out you can always go to your nearest Clinique store and ask if you can try it on throughout the day to see if you like it.

IMG_6825

This foundation is perfect for anyone who likes minimal looking makeup and does not wear foundation a lot. It blends nicely into your skin and looks natural. I love using this foundation on days where I want a bit more coverage and want my skin looking more even.

This foundation is on the more high end price at £22.50 but I think it is worth the price. You can find it at Clinique online or in store and also in Boots.

Life With MCM | Blog

Megan McCoig’s blog is a Beauty/Lifestyle blog. Her blog is full of helpful, detailed blog posts of reviews on high end but also drug store beauty products. The layout of her blog is so simple and easy to read. I am a recent follower of her blog and now it is one of my favourites to read. When you read her blog posts, you can see how much effort goes into them. Her pictures always give me photo envy as they look so professional! She also does blog posts on Travel and Inspiration.

I’m Megan McCoig a 20 year old student studying Media and Cultural Studies at the University of the Arts London. My blog is here to share my lifestyle interests, such as travel, beauty, inspiration and personal thoughts.

From reading blogs across many categories I was recently inspired to start writing about my passions and what I enjoy in life.

Here’s a brief insight into what you’ll see across each category:
Beauty – I thoroughlyenjoy trying and sharing products from both high end and high street brands. I will be sharing reviews, tips and tutorials to share which beauty products I use and how I use them.
Travel – One of my desires is to travel, and being a student it can be hard to do so. So, when I do get the time and money this is what I do. When I travel I love to document with photos and videos, which I will be sharing along with what I did and enjoyed.
Inspiration – These photos will focus on my personal thoughts and views on many different topics. I will post inspiration that I have written or documented myself, or some stuff that inspires me. This could be anything from a feature I have written to things (objects, people, spaces etc.) that have inspired me to write about and share.

I hope you enjoy what I share with you – feel free to comment and share

Makeup Haul

Before Christmas, I entered Megan McCoig giveaway. I woke up to a message on twitter that I had won it and I was over the moon!. I was a recent reader of her blog and her giveaway contained make up I wanted to try and an eye shadow palette I wanted to buy but was never in the shop when I went to get it.

So when I found out I had won it, I was so happy and excited. I thought I would do a post on what I got with a little review of each product. A few days later I received it and I was excited to try out the makeup products.

Revolution | Flawless Matte
I have had my eye on this palette for a while now and it was always out of stock when I went to buy it. It is full of every day eyeshadows. They are so pigmented and easily bendable.

PicMonkey Collage7.jpg

Elf | Blush Peach Keen
I have never owned or used any Elf products, so I was excited to try them out as I have heard a lot about them. This blush is a gorgeous colour.

PicMonkey Collage6.jpg

Rimmel | Glam Eyes Black Eyeliner
If you read me my blog, you know I am a huge lover of eyeliners that are thin at the end. They are so much easy to do winged liner and you always get a nice thin line.

PicMonkey Collage5.jpg

Eyeko -Black Magic Mascara
Again with Eyeko, I love their eyeliner so I was excited to try out their mascara. This has now made it into my every day make up bag! It lengths, curls and thickens the look of my lashes. I also love the packaging.

PicMonkey Collage3.jpg

Two Faced | Nude Melted Liquified Lipstick
Two faced is another product I have heard about but never used or owned. I love the packaging of this product also, the colour is lovely nude shade and looks lovely on!

IMG_30671PicMonkey Collage

Rimmel | Kate Lipstick
I love this shade of red! It is perfect for when you are wearing minimal makeup. This lipstick is also so moisturising and I am happy Megan put this in as a surprise as its a lovely lipstick.

Lee Stafford – My Big Fat Healthy Hair Shampoo | Review

IMG_3227.JPG

Lee Stafford – My Big Fat Healthy Hair

So this is another Lee Stafford review as lately I am loving his Hair Growth product range and decided to try some of his other hair products out. I have tried his Hair Growth range and you can see the review on the Hair Growth: Shampoo and Hair Mask here or the Hair Growth: Leave In Treatment here.

IMG_3228.JPG

Review

‘With PRO-VOLUME™ Complex for bigger, fuller fatter hair. Lee Stafford My Big Fat Healthy Hair shampoo boosts hair’s body and texture, enhances gloss and shine, and banishes dulling deposits that make hair go lank and limp. The PRO-VOLUME™ Complex is a combination of hair conditioning agents to add volume.’

You use this like normal shampoo, you massage it into your hair from roots to tip. Then rinse, repeat and use your conditioner.

I love this smell of this product and it does linger on the hair but not for a long time.
The one thing I do not like about this product is that it lathers a little too much, so you do not need much of the product. This may not sound like a bad thing for a shampoo, but it lathers that much I spend more time rinsing it out to make sure it all out of my hair.

IMG_3231

The thing that drew me into buying this shampoo was the ‘Pro Volume for Fatter Hair’.
My hair is quite thin and can sometimes look very limp and I like to use products that add that bit of volume without weighing my hair down. So when I saw that it helps to keep hair looking thicker and fuller I had to pick it up and try it out.

It does not give my hair loads of volume but I can tell it looks less thin and limp. It does not dry my hair out or weigh it down which is a great as you don’t want your shampoo doing that. It makes my hair look and feel so much nicer and also helps it feel thicker.

It has not done wonders to my hair but overall it is a good shampoo but if your looking for a shampoo to make your hair appear thicker and fuller this might not do that.

Another point for people who dye their hair, It does not strip any colour out of your hair so do not worry about it stripping the colour out.

This shampoo is £5.99 and you can find it here.

Have you tried this product out or any of the Lee Stafford Products?

Lee Stafford – Hair Growth: Leave In Treatment | Review

IMG_3224.JPG

Lee Stafford – Hair Growth: Leave in Treatment

I am a huge fan of the Lee Stafford Hair Growth range. Last year around this time I bought the Lee Stafford Hair Growth shampoo and hair mask. Since then it has been one of my go to hair products as my hair was stuck at the awkward shoulder length and did not seem to grow or want to grow. I tried a lot of other things like cutting out using heat on my hair and stopped dying it before finding the Lee Stafford range. Since using this I have noticed that my hair is finally starting to grow a lot more and it a lot more healthy looking as well as feeling!
You can find my review on those products here.

Lee Stafford Hair Growth – Shampoo & Mask Review

Lee Stafford – Leave In Treatment

After using the shampoo and hair mask for a year now, I noticed they had a leave in treatment hair spray from the same range. At first I did not want to use this as I thought it would weigh my hair down or make it look greasy. As I said in a previous blog post, I am not a huge fan of putting oils and products in my hair as sometimes they make my hair go greasy and do more bad then good in my eyes.

I decided to pick it up and give it a go. I was happy when I got back home and tried it out as it smells like the other products and I am a huge fan of the smell. It lingers for ages and smells so refreshing. I have only been using this for 2 weeks so I have not noticed a huge difference in my hair growth like I have with the two other Lee Stafford products. This product is light on your hair and after applying it and drying your hair it is not even noticeable and does not look like you have not put any products in your hair.
