Evening Skincare Routine | June 2015

IMG_2125

When it comes to your evening skin care routine it can be a bit of a chore. Sometimes when you come home after a long day of work or university you just want to climb into bed and relax. I like to make sure I cleanse my face and apply a moisturiser before going to bed, sometimes I do more of a deep cleanse on my face. I don’t use all these products I’m going to talk about in one night, I like to alternate between products.

Cleansers, Toners & Eye Lotion

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish

‘Rich and creamy, this hot cloth cleanser quickly removes daily grime and make up (even stubborn mascara) leaving all skin types clean, soft and radiant. With purifying eucalyptus essential oil, toning rosemary plus soothing chamomile and cocoa butter.’

I love using Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish in the evening as well as in the morning. I feel like it gives my skin a good deep cleanse. I prefer using this in the evening as I feel  like it gets all my makeup off as well as daily grime that clings to my skin throughout the day. This product is not heavy on the skin and does not leave your skin feeling greasy either, after using this I will just use a moisturiser and then leave my skin for the night.

Liz Earle Soothing Eye Lotion

‘Infused with a skin-calming blend of aloe vera, eyebright and witch hazel, this gentle herbal lotion cools, revitalises and brightens and can also be used to remove light eye make up. Suitable for contact lens wearers.’

I use the Liz Earle Soothing Eye Lotion after the Cleanse & Polish. This helps soothes the skin around my eye as well as removing the last traces of mascara and eyeshadow. Its lightweight and leaves your skin feeling hydrated.

Lush Haul & Review | A Much Needed Treat

lush1

So the other day I went to the Trafford Centre with my sister and I couldn’t resist going into Lush to buy my favourite bubble bar. I ended coming out with more products but I couldn’t resist the urge to try out some of their other face products! I’ve had these products for around a week now and wanted to test them all out so I could write an honest review and see how the face products helped my skin and if they do what they say.

lush6

Brightside

‘When you’re chewing on life’s gristle, don’t grumble, give a whistle! Hop in the bath with one of these uplifting bubble bars, Sicilian mandarin, bergamot and tangerine essential oils to help you look on the bright side of life! Its jazzy bright colours will create magnificent orange bath water, and the sunny citrus fragrance is sure to leave you jolly and refreshed.’

This bubble bar smells like fresh oranges and citrusy the smell instantly makes me feel so fresh and clean!
My sister introduced me to this and ever since I always have to go back to Lush and repurchase it. When using this i take 1/4 of the bubble bar and crumble it under the hot tap and it creates lots of bubbles and turns the bath a lovely orange colour. I always use this when I’m feeling a little under the weather or I need a pick me up.

This bubble bar is £4.75 and you can find it here.

Lush Haul | April 2015

Lush haul title

Hello fellow beauty bloggers and readers,
So the other day i went to Lush with my sister and we treated our selves to some Lush goodies. I picked up two bubble bars, two bath bombs and a face mask.

I bought some presents and also things for myself as i’ve been a little stressed doing my uni work and Lush baths always make me feel better.

Lush haul 1

Cosmetic Warrior – Fresh Face Mask

‘A gentle and balancing fresh face mask with antibacterial tea tree and fresh garlic working together to cleanse. Fresh green grapes clean and cool the skin, whilst free range eggs tighten its texture and antimicrobial honey leaves it soft and moisturised. Smooth a generous layer of this mask onto your face and leave for 10 to 15 minutes.’

Me and my sister wanted a face mask that would help get rid of spots. Over the past few weeks my forehead has broke out in tiny spots and everything I tried didn’t help to reduce them. This face mask caught our eye and the lovely lady at Lush told us how good this was for spots and how soft it made your skin feel, she wasn’t wrong! After using it once I noticed a huge difference with the appearance of the spots on my forehead. It contains garlic which the lady said put people off but you can’t smell it and all the natural ingredients combined really help with spots. You keep this in the fridge and you get around 6 face masks out of it.

This face mask helps cool, soothe and reduce the appearance and also gets rid of spots and has helped calm my skin and works wonders to help get rid of spots. Also because all the ingredients are natural it isn’t irritating or damaging to the skin.

Cosemtic Warrior is £6.50 for a 75ml pot. You can pick it up in stores or find it here.

December Favourites

 decemberdf

Hello beauty bloggers & readers, heres my December Favourites picks. I’m sorry it’s a little late but its better late than never right? 🙂

Non Beauty Items:

Vogue
Since being at home my mum has bought me vogue as at uni I’m on a budget, i love this magazine and its great to reading in bed and also get inspiration from.

FANGIRL – Rainbow Rowell
I picked this up from my local asda after christmas for only £3! I thought it would just be a good book to pass the time over this holiday but i was so wrong! I haven’t put this book down! I love the story and the way its written and i don’t want it to end, i love when you get so into a book and the characters and this is one of those books. I’m very happy with this purchase and if you’re looking for a good book to read i highly recommend this!

Beauty Products:

L’oreal Elvive – Hair Mask
I few weeks ago i stripped my hair from black to a medium brown and it wrecked my hair! And this has been my saviour all through December to help my hair get back to its original state. I love the smell of this hair mask and it leaves my hair so shiny and feeling a lot nicer and less damaged, it’s also part of this hair thickening range and as my hair is very fine it helps to make it look and feel fuller!

Tea Tree – Foaming Face Wash
I used to use this every day when washing my face and then i switched to other products to try them out. I came across it again and started using it and i forgot how good it was. You only need one pump and then i rub it onto my face and then wash of with water, it’s help with spots as over christmas I’ve broke out on my forehead and tea tree is really good when it comes with spots and has helped me slowly get my skin back to normal. This is quite cheap in super drug and if you suffer with spots i recommend this.

Big – Sea Salt Shampoo
I absolutely love this stuff! I have been using the Tail ‘N Mane shampoo and have gone back to this because it instantly makes my hair look thicker, feel nicer and smell amazing! It’s a little pricey from lush but if your like me and suffer from having fine limp hair i recommend you to buy this because it doesn’t disappoint.

No7 – High Shine Lip Crayon
I really like these lip crayons and they suit every day where and finish your makeup look off. I’ve been wearing these over christmas and they are also moisturising on your lips.

No7 – Instant Radiance Foundation
This foundation is just amazing! My sister wears this and you can’t even tell she’s got foundation on! It matches the skin perfectly, it’s easy to apply & looks flawless. I will be doing a review soon.

No7 – Gel Look Shine – Neptune
I’ve recently came across these No7 nail varnishes, the first one i got was from my advent calendar and then i got a set of them for christmas. They are very pigmented and look amazing on your nails. The only downside is that they chip easy but if you put a top coat on it makes them last a little longer.

I hope you like my December Favourite picks

Pamper / Lazy Day

pamper day

After having a bad week or finishing all your assignments you just want to sit back and relax and have some ‘me time’.

Heres a few things that i do to help me relax;

pamper 1

First thing i do is get into some comfy clothing. I either opt for pjs or joggers and a slouchy top and slipper socks. I hate having to get dressed if I’m just going to lounge about all day so i put on my comfiest clothes.
The Hello Kitty pjs are from primark and the slipper socks are also from primark.

I’ve recently got back into painting my nails as I’ve always been busy to take my old nail varnish and put a new coat on. But since getting new nail polishes i’ve been putting new colours on my nails each week. This week i went for these No7 Gel – look shine & No7 Nail effect. These are in the shades ‘Neptune’ & ‘Sun Rays’.

pamper 2

When I’m in bed i love reading when i get some free time, i love getting lost in a book but since being at uni I’ve found no time to read. So at the weekend or my day off i love reading a few chapters. My current favourite book is Fangirl, i got this at christmas and i haven’t put it down yet!

I also love magazines and i have a box full of old ones i can’t bear to throw away! (yup I’m a hoarder of old magazines) I love Vogue but being on a budget this is a treat when i have money, Vogue always reminds me of when i was in high school and i desperately wanted to read it but as it cost’s about £5 i couldn’t bring myself to buy it. Then while i was at my dads we went to the shop and he bought Vogue for me and i still have that magazine now as i was so happy to finally get it. I also love reading ‘Teen Vogue’ ‘Seventeen’ ‘Company’ & ‘Elle’.

Face mask’s are a great way to help you relax and also pamper yourself. When i have free time or when i go for a hot bubble bath i love putting on a face mask, these two are my favourite face mask’s and they always leave my face feeling so soft and brighter looking.

Pamper 3

Bath bombs are bath fizzes i don’t use every time i have a bath, i like using them when I’m feeling stressed or ill to make myself feel better. I got a few bath bombs for christmas and i can’t wait to use them. Yesterday i used the Lush bath bomb my sister got me and i absolutely loved it! (review coming soon)

On my pamper days i use a hair mask to give my hair a break and to restore the damage that colouring my hair has done to it. The L’Oreal Elvive leaves my hair feeling softer and also a little thicker and the John Frieda leaves it feeling healthy and smells amazing. I have yet to try the Sanctuary hair mask, i got this off my mum for christmas and i will be doing a review on it soon.

pamper 4\

When i have free time or I’m having a pamper day i love watching films and catching up with tv series.
Currently I’m loving Heroes, i watched this when it came out years ago and me and my family have been watching a few episodes every night and i can’t get enough of it!

I’m also loving 90210 as i used to watch it when my sister watched it and its on Netflix so I’ve been re watching it from the beginning.

Netflix has put Pretty Little Liars on and I’m so happy and me and my friend used to be obsessed with it and i watched every episode when it came out but recently I’ve had to watch it on online sites and could never find one that didn’t buffer or freeze so I left it. But now i can catch up on all the episodes i missed and get back into it again!

What do you do on your pamper/lazy days?

*The natural light wasn’t on my side while taking these photo’s so had to opt for a nice filter to make them look better. Getting natural light can be a pain to bloggers!*

Lush Haul

IMG_0984

I have another little Lush haul, I got these as a gift and thought i’d also do a little review on these products too.

Karma Kream

‘A gentle hand and body cream to nourish skin and perfume it with orange, patchouli and pine for a scent that lasts all day. It’s loaded with almond oil, cocoa butter and glycerine to leave skin supple and positively glowing, while orange, pine and patchouli give an exotic air.’

IMG_0980 IMG_0992
(£13.95)

It’s a nice fresh moistening cream and it leaves your skin smelling nice and clean. It dries instantly on your skin so you don’t have to wait around waiting for it to dry. Its not harsh on your skin either.

Sex Bomb

‘When you’ve got that feeling – tired, stressed out and anxious – you need some sensual healing. The fragrant blend of jasmine, ylang ylang and clary sage will soon have you relaxed and feeling in the mood… Jasmine is an ancient aphrodisiac, used as a sensual perfume in India for centuries and in aromatherapy to ease stress and anxiety. Clary sage clears the mind, while ylang ylang is renowned for soothing worries.’

IMG_0987 IMG_0986
(£3.35)

This bath bomb looks so pretty and smells so good! I love how its a relaxing bath bomb as when your feeling stressed or anxious theres nothing better then running a hot bubble bath and adding a bath bomb especially when it helps you destress and relax.

Twilight

‘If sleep is evading you, this combination of essential oils will help get you ready for a good night’s rest. As Twilight dissolves, it turns from the colour of the setting sun and gets darker, turning your water a shimmering deep purple. The fragrance has been designed to help you sleep: lavender is a soothing, mind-clearing and calming fragrance, used in aromatherapy to treat insomnia and aid restful sleep, while benzoin and tonka call to mind a milky caramel malt drink.’

IMG_0988 IMG_0990
(£3.35)

This smells so nice and is also great because it helps you sleep, and also again there is nothing better then a nice bath and then getting into bed and relaxing.

Sakura

‘This is a celebration of spring in a bath bomb, bursting into a floral fragrance. Inspired by the cherry blossom in Japan, this pretty bomb is designed to evoke the burst of optimism the first sign of spring brings. We’ve used calming mimosa and jasmine oils complemented by lemon oil and orange flower to bring to mind the smell of this colourful season.’

IMG_0979 IMG_0977
(£3.35)

I love the colour of this bath bomb and its inspired on cherry blossom which is such a beautiful flower. It smells lovely and i can’t wait to use it.

Morning Routine

morning routine

IMG_0896

I don’t wear much makeup and i use different face washes/ moisturisers & toners so this is what I’m currently using at the moment as i tend to change my skin care routine as the weather changes.

IMG_0899

I use this face wash in the morning as my other scrub has ran out and i needed a new one, it also does the job and my my skin feel fresh and clean.

IMG_0888

I decided to try this Asda Young Skin as i needed a new moisturiser as i needed a new one and it was on offer. It does the job and is a cheap good moisturiser if you are on a budget.

IMG_0892

I like to use the L’Oreal skin perfection on my face before i use the Tea Tree Toner as it gets rid of the dirt that your face wash didn’t get and helps with spots.

IMG_0894

I love this Tea Tree Toner from Lush and use it every day, you can either spray it on your face or use a cotton pad to apply it.

IMG_0886

I purchased the Real Techniques Stippling Brush and i absolutely love it. It’s so soft on your face and put the right amount of product from the powder onto your face. They are pricy but if you wear makeup everyday its a good investment.

IMG_0882 IMG_0883

I sometimes like to fill my eyebrows in as i have sparse brows and it makes them appear a little thicker. I use the Seventeen Brows That it was around £4 from super drug when i bought it.

IMG_0884 IMG_0885

I use the Maybelline Fit Me Powder as it gives me the right amount of coverage.

IMG_0889

I love this Red Jeans scent and use it everyday.

I’m so happy its started to get cold and feel like winter as i can finally break out the brown nail polishes! My favourite one is this Nails inc inspired by Diet Coke.

Hair Products For Fine Hair

3

IMG_1038IMG_1039

If you are like me and have fine hair and envy anyone who has thick luscious hair this post might help you achieve being one step closer to getting thicker hair without having to break the piggy bank for expensive extensions.

These are hair products that I’ve used for months and have worked the best to help achieve thicker looking and feeling hair. I have some affordable one’s and one that is a little pricy but works amazingly.

IMG_1040

Mane ‘N Tail Shampoo & Conditioner

Mane ‘N Tail was originally made for horses hair. Don’t be put off using this product because it also actually helps hair grow faster. (I will be doing a review on this) I feel like this product really helps make hair feel thicker and it also strengthens hair. I use this every other day on my hair and it has a nice smell to it and the smell lingers hours after you have washed your hair. Ive been using this for a little over a year and i can tell a huge difference in my hair, it has helped my spilt ends and my hair always looks clean and shiny.

I purchased this product on amazon as it doesn’t sell in the UK,it’s £7.09 for both shampoo and conditioner 355ml.

IMG_1042IMG_1041

L’Oreal: Elvive Fibrology

This is a very recent hair thickening product that L’Oreal has brought out. It has the shampoo and conditioner, hair mask and the thickness booster. Ive used the hair mask as a treatment after I’ve dyed my hair and when my hair starts to feel dry. I use the Shampoo in alternative with the Mane ‘N Tail shampoo. I really like the smell to these products as the smell is strong enough for you to smell it on your hair. Your supposed to use the thickness booster with conditioner but i don’t use conditioner so i just add it to my shampoo and live it a little longer in my hair. I find these products do the job, not as much as the Mane ‘N Tail but you can feel a difference and it makes your hair look less fine and limp looking.

I purchased these from boots, i got them when there was an offer. The Shampoo is £2.99 The thickness booster is £5.99 which i find a little expensive for the amount you get and the thickening mask is £5.09.

IMG_1044

Lush: Big Sea Salt Shampoo

I absolutely love this product and i defiantly would recommend it to people who have fine hair. I use this every other time i wash my hair instead of Mane ‘n Tail or the Elvive. I take a little in my hand and rub it between my palms i then spread it over my head and massage it into my hair, i leave it on for a little bit and then i wash it all out. It smells nice and it makes my hair feel so volumized and thicker! I don’t use this every time i wash my hair as it can be quite drying to my hair. This is one of the best products I’ve purchased for my hair as it makes it actually look and feel thicker and I’ve noticed such a difference using this product. Ive had this for a few months now and it never fails me.

I purchased this from Lush for £12.25 it’s a lot of money for how much you get but i really recommend it as it does the job.

IMG_1045

John Frieda: Luxurious Volume Thickening Mousse

I’ve tried my fair share of thickening mousses, and some have made my hair feel greasy or have dried funny and left my hair feeling hard. I took a chance and picked this up and i really like it. I take a small amount of the mousse into my hands then i put half into my roots and the rest through my hair, i then flip my hair upside down and blow dry it to make sure all the product is dry. It gives me volume and some thickness and doesn’t make my hair feel sticky or clump up my hair.

I purchased this from boots and it’s £4.99

IMG_1043

John Frieda: Root Booster

I use this before i use the mousse, i spray it on my roots flip my hair up and then blow dry it. It doesn’t leave your hair feeling sticky and it actually helps boost your roots a bit. Its £5.79 from boots.

I hope this post helps with anyone who has fine hair and are trying to achieve getting thicker looking hair. Some of the products are affordable if you are on a budget. If you would like more of a review before you purchase any of these products feel free to ask.
