 Review

I came across the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge in ASDA when I was doing my food shop. I have seen everyone rave about beauty blenders but never thought of buying one as I rarely wear foundation so thought it would be a waste. Anyway, It was on offer so I decided to pick it up and give it a go.

Review

I tried the sponge out first with my Clinique Superbalanced Foundation, I put some of the foundation on the back of my hand and dotted it over my face using my finger. I then used the sponge to blend the product in. I found that the sponge soaks up more of the product then it did distributing and blending it in over my skin. I then tried it with my Clinique Airbrush Concealer, I found It blended the concealer more and it made it less cakey looking then it did when applied with my fingers or a foundation brush.

One of the things I like is how different sides of the sponge help apply different face product better. The pointed end is perfect for applying concealer as It can get under the eyes and around the nose better than a brush can.

Overall

Overall I must say I am not a huge fan of this product, I find that it soaks up more of the product you are using then it does distributing it over your skin. I only like it for blending concealer under my eyes and around my nose and I have not used it a lot since buying it. I know a lot of other people love beauty blenders but I will stick with my Stippling Brush when applying my base makeup.

Using the sponge also felt like I was blending the products in more then using the stippling brush as you have to dab the sponge around your face alot more so the product is all blended in.

This product is £5.99 and you can pick it up from Boots, Superdrug, Asda and other places or you can find it online here.

Have you tried the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge?
What are your thoughts?

Get Ready With Me | Minimal Makeup, Hair Care & Skin Care

 Get Ready With MePicMonkey Collage3

Hello fellow bloggers & readers,
I thought I would do something a little different today. Instead of doing a post on skin care or makeup,
I decided I would make a little ‘Get Ready With Me’ video.

I’m going to go more into detail in this blog post.

I hope you liked this little video, I might start doing more blog posts like this with little videos to change things up a little.

Hair Care

If you want to know my full hair care routine I made a blog post and a video about it a few months ago.
My Hair Care Routine

My hair care routine is pretty basic, I don’t tend to change products that often.

Shampoo – LOreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil
£3.99
This is hands down my favourite shampoo as it has helped my hair so much when it was bleached and badly damaged.
It doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it look greasy.
If you bleach your hair or have damaged hair I recommend this product.

Hair Oil – LOreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil
£9.99
If you read my blog you will know how much I talk about this product. It never lets me down, this product also saved my over dyed, damaged hair at the beginning of the year. It is a little pricey but it lasts for ages! You only need one to two pumps of the oil and it spreads though the hair. It doesn’t leave your hair greasy or weighed down.

Spilt End Treatment – Umberto Giannini Mend My Hair
£7.99

This product also saved my damaged hair and also helps reduce spilt ends. It’s a 5-1 hair oil which helps repair your hair. I only use this product at the ends of my hair as I use the LOreal product all over.

Hair Brush – Tangle Teezer
£10.99
This is a lot of money for a  hairbrush, but it actually does what it says it will.
It helps get all the knots and tangles out of my hair without it hurting. If you use a normal brush and then use this, you will notice a huge difference between the two!
I highly recombined this hair brush.

Maybelline Matte Maker Powder & Real Techniques Expert Face Brush |Review

review3

Hello Beauty Bloggers & readers,
The UK has been having such lovely weather and I have been making the most of it sat outside enjoying the sun and reading!

I went to Superdrug with my two friends to pass the time and to browse at the make up. I wanted to find a  face powder that helped even out my skin tone a little and that I could wear on days where I did not want to put foundation on my skin. My friend recommended me this Maybelline powder.

review1

Maybelline – Matte Maker Mattifying Powder

‘Matte Maker all-day powder, Maybelline’s face powder with millions of powerful mattifying particles! Instantly absorbs oil and blends seamlessly with your skins tone and texture, for a perfectly flawless matte finish.’

This powder is light/medium coverage, I think it’s best over a foundation to help look more matte then dewy. But you can still put this powder on your face without foundation for a little bit more cover on your skin. This powder helps reduce the look of my under eye bags and also helps even out my skin tone just a little. It feels nice and smooth on the skin and applies well, The colour I picked up matches to my skin perfectly and you can’t really tell you have powder on as it does not leave you skin looking caked. The more I use this powder the more it grows on me.

no711

I’ve tried many foundations and i could never find one that lasted the whole day, didn’t look greasy or too powdery on my skin and actually matched my skin tone.

I’ve finally found a foundation that tick’s all my boxes when it comes to the right foundation!

Review

This foundation is a miracle in a bottle! I first came across this when my sister’s friend used it and she said it looked like she was not  wearing any foundation and her skin looked amazing, my sister got matched up to the shade ‘Calico’ and when the women at the counter applied it to her face i couldn’t even tell she had anything on! It blends into the skin perfectly and does not look cakey (nobody want’s their foundation to look cakey.) When i saw it on my sister i knew i had to own this foundation for myself!

The packaging for this product looks amazing and even though it’s simple its eye-catching and does not look cheap. I only need one pump to cover my face and its a medium coverage so you can build it up. I apply this to my skin with the Real Techniques – Stippling Brush and it’s easy to apply and sinks into your face and leaves you with even and nice looking skin. It stays on your skin all day and gives you the right coverage without looking caked in foundation.

What i love about this foundation is it’s a radiance boost for tired or stressed skin, everyone has those days where they look like rubbish and this is the perfect pick me up. It gives you the brightness and even skin tone but without looking like you’ve put a layer of foundation on.

The price is £12.50 but it has a variety of shades and you can go to the No7 counter and they will match up with the little machine they have for free and help you pick out the right shade.

I can’t hype this product up enough as it tick’s all the boxes to the perfect foundation, this will defiantly be my new daily foundation and as you i only need one pump to do my entire face it will last for a while before i need to go repurchase it. If your unsure about this product check it out on the boot’s website as it has everything you need to know on there and also people’s reviews.

What is your favourite daily foundation?

Katie x

Morning Routine

morning routine

IMG_0896

I don’t wear much makeup and i use different face washes/ moisturisers & toners so this is what I’m currently using at the moment as i tend to change my skin care routine as the weather changes.

IMG_0899

I use this face wash in the morning as my other scrub has ran out and i needed a new one, it also does the job and my my skin feel fresh and clean.

IMG_0888

I decided to try this Asda Young Skin as i needed a new moisturiser as i needed a new one and it was on offer. It does the job and is a cheap good moisturiser if you are on a budget.

IMG_0892

I like to use the L’Oreal skin perfection on my face before i use the Tea Tree Toner as it gets rid of the dirt that your face wash didn’t get and helps with spots.

IMG_0894

I love this Tea Tree Toner from Lush and use it every day, you can either spray it on your face or use a cotton pad to apply it.

IMG_0886

I purchased the Real Techniques Stippling Brush and i absolutely love it. It’s so soft on your face and put the right amount of product from the powder onto your face. They are pricy but if you wear makeup everyday its a good investment.

IMG_0882 IMG_0883

I sometimes like to fill my eyebrows in as i have sparse brows and it makes them appear a little thicker. I use the Seventeen Brows That it was around £4 from super drug when i bought it.

IMG_0884 IMG_0885

I use the Maybelline Fit Me Powder as it gives me the right amount of coverage.

IMG_0889

I love this Red Jeans scent and use it everyday.

I’m so happy its started to get cold and feel like winter as i can finally break out the brown nail polishes! My favourite one is this Nails inc inspired by Diet Coke.
