Get Ready With Me | Minimal Makeup, Hair Care & Skin Care

 Get Ready With MePicMonkey Collage3

Hello fellow bloggers & readers,
I thought I would do something a little different today. Instead of doing a post on skin care or makeup,
I decided I would make a little ‘Get Ready With Me’ video.

I’m going to go more into detail in this blog post.

I hope you liked this little video, I might start doing more blog posts like this with little videos to change things up a little.

Hair Care

If you want to know my full hair care routine I made a blog post and a video about it a few months ago.
My Hair Care Routine

My hair care routine is pretty basic, I don’t tend to change products that often.

Shampoo – LOreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil
This is hands down my favourite shampoo as it has helped my hair so much when it was bleached and badly damaged.
It doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it look greasy.
If you bleach your hair or have damaged hair I recommend this product.

Hair Oil – LOreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil
If you read my blog you will know how much I talk about this product. It never lets me down, this product also saved my over dyed, damaged hair at the beginning of the year. It is a little pricey but it lasts for ages! You only need one to two pumps of the oil and it spreads though the hair. It doesn’t leave your hair greasy or weighed down.

Spilt End Treatment – Umberto Giannini Mend My Hair

This product also saved my damaged hair and also helps reduce spilt ends. It’s a 5-1 hair oil which helps repair your hair. I only use this product at the ends of my hair as I use the LOreal product all over.

Hair Brush – Tangle Teezer
This is a lot of money for a  hairbrush, but it actually does what it says it will.
It helps get all the knots and tangles out of my hair without it hurting. If you use a normal brush and then use this, you will notice a huge difference between the two!
I highly recombined this hair brush.

November Favourites

This is my first ever favourites blog post so I thought I’d but a couple of different items in.

Non Beauty items:

Ketchup Clouds – Annabel Pitcher
This book is so easy to get into and it keeps you thinking and guessing throughout, I’ve enjoyed reading this snuggled in bed in my free time.
Waterstones £6.99

Floral Notepad – Liberty
I love anything floral and i got this off my boyfriend for our 3 years and decided to use it to write all my blog post ideas in. It’s from waterstones and they have so many different patterns!

Vanilla Candle
I picked this up when i first moved into my uni house and i got it from pound stretcher for around £4! I’ve only started lighting it and it fills the room with such a nice smell.

Beauty Products:

Champneys – Gentle Conditioning Toner
I absolutely love this toner and its so gentle on the skin and makes your face feel so smooth! I’ve only just turned back to use it recently as I’ve been using my Tea Tree Toner from Lush. It smells so nice and you only need one cotton pad to tone your whole face.
You can pick this up from boots for £7.50

Umberto Giannini – Mend My Hair
My hair has been so damaged lately at the ends and I’ve been using this after washing my hair and it’s helping my spilt ends look less horrible. I use two pumps after washing my hair and spread it evenly throughout my ends then i blow dry.
You can pick this up from boots for £7.99

L’Oreal Elvive – Extraordinary Oil
This product is just WOW! My sister lent it to me as my ends are so badly damaged and after one use my hair feels and looks so much nicer! I’m doing a little review on this product as I’ve been raving about it since i tried it out so keep a look out for that.
You can pick this up from boots for £8.49

Nails Inc – Jermyn
Since it’s getting colder and i love wearing brown nail varnishes. This is my go to brown nail varnish as its so pretty and goes with everything.
You can pick this up from boots for £11.00

If you can’t tell i buy a lot of things from boots because they always have amazing deals on, if you can’t find them in boots i recommend Superdrug or Amazon as they always have them for cheaper or around the same price.

How To Repair Damaged Hair

header 00

After trying to get my hair back to it’s natural colour my hair got really damaged in the process and kept snapping off. This wasn’t good for me because I’ve been trying to grow my hair and i then had to have 2/3 inches cut off because it was so damaged! These are the things i did to my hair to help repair and strengthen it back up. I would recommend reading reviews before using certain brands of hair dye as some can do more damage then good to you hair.

What I Used To Help Repair My Hair

L’Oreal Elvive – Thickening Masque

This first thing i did was use hair mask’s. There are a lot of hair masks out there but finding one that actually does the job it’s supposed to do can be hard. I’ve used many masks but i haven’t really noticed a difference in my hair. I then used John Frieda’s Full Repair Deep Conditioner (£5.89) I put this all over my hair when it was wet, put it in a bun and left it for 5-10 minutes, i then washed it off. The first time i used it i didn’t really notice a difference but after a while i started to see my spilt ends were not as noticeable and my hair wasn’t snapping off as much.

Mane ‘n’ Tail Shampoo & Conditioner

The next thing i did was find a Shampoo and Conditioner that would repair my hair and stop it from snapping off easily. I turned back to Mane ‘n Tail ( around £7 from amazon) as it helps grow hair and i heard it strengthens hair as well. After a month of using the shampoo i noticed such a huge difference in my hair, my hair wasn’t snapping off while i was washing my hair and it looks more healthy and my spilt ends were not as noticeable. I will always highly recommend this product because its help my hair grow and strengthen in a short time and always does wonders to my hair.

Tangel Teezer

I purchased a Tangle Teezer from boots. (£10.99) This hair brush is expensive but defiantly worth the money. I got recommend this by a friend and I’ve loved it ever since. As i have fine hair, my hair knots very easily, just going on a short walk can knot my hair so much if you have fine hair you will understand the pain. This brush helps get the knots out without hurting my scalp or pulling my hair out. Its gentle on the hair and prevents damaging it. Changing your hair brush sounds a little silly when talking about how to repair your hair but it’s such an improvement and can help just as much as using a hair mask as you brush your hair everyday and if your brush is ripping hair out each time you brush it its going to damage your hair even more.

Umberto Giannini – Mend My Hair Therapy

The last thing i did was try to find a product to help spilt ends. I searched high and low for a good product that wasn’t too pricy and did the job. After doing lots of research and not being able to find the product i wanted to try out i picked up the Umberto Giannini – Mend My Hair Therapy (£7.99) If i’m honest I’ve never heard of or used any of this brands products before. But i picked it up and gave it a go and I’m happy with the results. After I’ve washed my hair i take 2 little pumps and rub it between my hands, i then evenly put it through my hair focusing more on the ends of my hair. I used this every time i wash my hair and with using this product for a short to i noticed a difference with my spilt ends. Im not very keen on putting oily products in my hair but this has helped my ends a lot and is defiantly worth the price.

I’m happy with the results from these products as my hair was that bad and breaking i didn’t want to have to cut it again. These have helped repair my hair and get it back to the state it was in before i dyed it. I’ve tried to make sure some of these products are affordable but it can be hard finding affordable products that work as sometimes its easier to pay a little more for something that will benefit you in the long run.

Thank you for reading, I hope this post helped you.
